Event Details

A limited number of places are available for this participatory Masterclass to be held in Glasgow on 10 November.  It is being jointly organised by STRADA at the University of Glasgow and IRISS; Dr Marcus Roberts from DrugScope will act as rapporteur.

There is a growing discourse around the moral compass for drugs policy to whcih thsi Masterclass hopes to contribute.  The evidence-based ratiponalism of reducing harm is beign debated alongside the view that drug use itself should be seen in moral terms.  The theme for the Masterclass will not be whether there is a place for morality in drgs policy, but whose ethics, which morality, how interpreted and what role?

The three contributors to the Masterclas will be Professor Fergus McNeill, Professor in Criminology and Scial Work, University of Glasgow; Dr Anna Smajdor, Lecturere in Ethics, University of East Anglia; and Dr Neil McKeganey, Independent Researcher.

As this is designed as a participatory event, numbers are limited and places must be booked by 2 November.
